What Happened in ‘The Last of Us’ Season 2, Episode 5?
Ellie and Dina finally got into some trouble that they couldn’t get out of alone. A new type of infected called stalkers trapped the two young women with far more intelligent tactics than any previous versions of the infected had displayed. Without any other options, Ellie was ready to lay down her life for Dina and her unborn baby before the timely arrival of Dina’s ex-boyfriend, Jesse (Young Mazino). Although Jesse is extremely angry at Ellie, he reveals that he came to Seattle with Tommy (Gabriel Luna) to find them.
The trio successfully evade the WLF, but they accidentally wander into the territory of the Seraphites. Dina was shot with an arrow in her leg, forcing Jesse to carry her. Ellie created a distraction to lead the Seraphites away, but in the process, she lost track of where Jesse and Dina went. Before long, Ellie realized she was near the hospital and close enough to find Nora (Tati Gabrielle), the woman who held her down while Abby killed Joel.
Ellie gets her desired result and holds a gun on Nora, who is initially apologetic about Joel’s fate. However, Nora’s demeanor changes when she taunts Ellie about what happened to her father figure. Nora attempts to escape and flees to the hospital basement, where scores of infected have been trapped for years. In the process, Nora is infected. Just as Ellie closes in on her, Nora asks her if she knows what Joel did to Abby’s father and the other Fireflies. Ellie coldly replies that she does before beating Nora with a lead pipe. In a flashback, Joel greets Ellie as she wakes up in Jackson.
