Rebel Wilson’s The Deb movie Instagram account is sharing posts taking aim at the film’s lead star Charlotte MacInnes.
The social media account shared several videos via its Instagram Stories on Friday, May 16, which made disparaging remarks against MacInnes, 25.
Footage posted on the Instagram account, which now appears to be set to private, featured a musical performance by MacInnes.
“Charlotte Macinnes in a culturally inappropriate outfit on Len Blavatnik’s luxury yacht in Cannes — ironically singing a song from a movie that will never get released because of her lies and support for the people blocking the film’s release,” the accompanying caption on one post read.

A second post’s caption read: “So glad you got your record deal Charlotte at the expense of the 300 people who worked on The Deb and really wanna see it released.”.
An insider exclusively told Us Weekly on Friday that Wilson, 45, is the only person who has access to the Instagram account.
“Rebel runs The Deb film official instagram account as the director of the film and co-owns the rights with the people who are suing her and she’s counter suing. She is the only one with access to the account,” an insider told Us.
The source added: “Charlotte has issued a statement saying Rebel is lying and this girl is not siding with Rebel so she is now attacking her on Instagram.”
The posts come amid a legal battle between Wilson and The Deb producers, Amanda Ghost, Gregor Cameron and Vince Holden. In July 2024, Wilson accused the producers of misconduct, embezzlement, and harassing the film’s lead star MacInnes. The producers responded by filing a lawsuit against Wilson for defamation. Wilson countersued three months later, alleging they had a pattern of intimidation and threats directed toward the Pitch Perfect star.
MacInnes, who worked with Wilson on the film, supported the producers and refuted Wilson’s claims that she was being sexually trafficked by them.
In court documents obtained by The Guardian in November, 2024 MacInnes alleged that Wilson repeated claims that one of the film’s producers sexually harassed MacInnes — even after she told Wilson no such behavior had occurred.
“I was deeply disturbed by this behavior, and felt very bullied and harassed by Wilson, who was the director of the film and in a position of authority over me,” MacInnes said in court documents. “Nothing that I told Wilson could reasonably have conveyed that I was reporting any misconduct, because there was no misconduct.”
MacInnes also denied specific accusations of sex trafficking, calling them “absurd.”

“I also understand [there were] claims that I was subjected to ‘depraved sexual demands’ and that ‘MacInnes remains captive by Ghost and Cameron as she is shuttled from city to city with them including Boston, New York and London,’” MacInnes continued in the court documents. “These statements are completely false and absurd. I have no idea what could cause Wilson and her attorney to make up such lies about me.”
In September 2024, MacInnes released a statement to the Daily Mail following the allegations, further refuting their veracity.
“There is no truth to the allegations made involving me. I made a statement to the film team when this was first said in September 2023 and am saying this now to draw a line under it. Making false accusations undermines real victims and I won’t be the subject of a fabricated narrative.”
