I’m writing to praise the faculty and students of Fairmount School in Bangor. I have a 10-year-old neighbor, Kellen, who let me know that he and his classmates were preparing to perform the musical “Annie.” Kellan gave me a sneak peak of his solo, as “Rooster,” singing.
I attended the performance this week and saw so much talent in the young actors, and so much dedication by teacher/director Ms. Bartley! Education, nutrition, kids being “a part of” and being motivated to thrive is and should be paramount to our nation’s success. I saw kids striving to thrive.
Our U.S. representatives need to help these children to thrive. These children of middle-class America need the funds so much more than the 1 percent of billionaires in the U.S.
I’m passionately fighting for the “little guy” — my 10-year-old neighbor — to thrive in his adult life. This will only be possible if We The People stop the insanity I see happening in the White House.
Write. Call. Email your representatives with these simple words: Save education. Save SNAP. Save Medicaid. Change the status of the unhoused. Concentrate on addiction services toward recovery. And so much more that can be funded with millionaire’s tax breaks!
It was an amazing show. I shed a few tears of pride for the amazing young talent I witnessed.
