Two women are dead after a Wednesday evening collision in Auburn.
The women, neither of whom has been publicly identified, were traveling in a 2016 Honda Odyssey van crossing Washington Street from Beech Hill Road about 6:56 p.m. when it passed in front of a 2017 Chevrolet pickup truck, according to the Auburn Police Department.
Both women were taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, where one died shortly after she arrived and the second died early Thursday morning.
The women were passengers in the van, owned by John F. Murphy Homes, which serves adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as autism.
The pickup truck’s driver wasn’t seriously injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
