President Donald Trump gets stymied in his illegal deportations to El Salvador on private planes, so he talks of deportations to Libya on military planes. Trump gets stymied on appointing Ed Martin as U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, so he appoints the even less qualified Jeannine Pirro as acting U.S. attorney.
Trump has spent his life skirting the law. As president it seems he is playing a game of the one who is craziest wins. I believe he’s making a mockery of Republicans and, with their help, he’s making a mess of our nation. It’s been a long way down. A Grand Old Party is a terrible thing to waste. So is our Constitution.
When will Republicans join the resistance, return to their roots, and remake their party in the image of Abraham Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, Dwight Eisenhower, and Maine’s own Margaret Chase Smith?
