The cause of death for Preston Ordone, known as “Okay Baby” online, has been released after his death at age 2.
Us Weekly can confirm that the infant died from “blunt force injuries due to a motor vehicle crash.” The St. Tammany Parish coroner’s office also shared that his death was categorized as accidental.
Friends of Preston’s parents, Katelynn and Jaelan Ordone, shared in April that the toddler died in a single-vehicle car crash. While both his parents were in the car at the time of the accident and sustained injuries, Preston’s 7-year-old sister, Paisley, was at school.
While addressing the accident via Facebook that month, the Louisiana State Police shared that an investigation was underway, including a routine toxicology test of the driver for analysis. Authorities reported that the driver and front passenger of the vehicle were both “properly restrained.” Preston, however, was “seated in the rear” and “improperly restrained in a child safety seat.”

Preston and Paisley’s grandfather Glen Norris went on to dispute the Louisiana State Police’s claims. He alleged to Nola.com that he had spoken with the witness and claimed that Preston was properly restrained. Katelynn later shared that she was discharged from the hospital while Jaelan remained.
“I think we all are trying … none of us really understand why or how this could happen, but y’all’s support has made a big difference in a lot of this. And I may not be able to watch everything, I may not be able to reply to every comment, because it’s really hard for me to look at it,” she said via Instagram, becoming visibly emotional. “But I’m still seeing some things in here, how much you’ll love them, and it means a lot.”
The family, who rose to fame online in 2024, honored Preston with a flower memorial at Glory Church in Slidell, Louisiana — which featured an oversized pair of overalls covered in moss and flowers, with a collage of photos of the toddler and a book to write messages.
“You are warmly invited to come as you are, at any time, to pay your respects and place a flower in the overalls as a symbol of love, remembrance, and support,” Katelynn’s Instagram caption read earlier this month. “Let us come together in remembrance to celebrate the life and light Preston brought into the world.

One day before Mother’s Day, Katelynn paid tribute to her son while sharing a series of photos of Preston through the years.
She captioned her Saturday, May 10, Instagram post, in part, “There will never be enough words to express my heart ache and how much I miss you but the one thing that gives me peace is knowing that this wasn’t a goodbye, this was a see you later & I can’t wait to see you again baby boy.”
