A Portland man is safe after he drove his car into Sebago Lake on Saturday morning.
The 73-year-old man’s Dodge Dart went off the Frye Island Ferry Landing about 8:46 a.m., according to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.
With the help of good Samaritans, the man escaped from the Dart as it became submerged in eight feet of water, the sheriff’s office said.
He was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland as a precaution.
No additional information was immediately available.
