Christopher Schwarzenegger is breaking down his lengthy weight loss journey.
“It was a big process,” Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver’s 27-year-old son said during a panel at the Inaugural Beacher Vitality Happy & Healthy Summit in Los Angeles on Saturday, May 10, per People. “I started in 2019 when I was living in Australia. I was on this big trip. I made it a big [deal] like, ‘Oh, I’m going to go out and do all this stuff, be in Australia,’ and I just saw how much my weight was prohibiting me from doing the everyday activities.”
One activity Christopher was sad to skip out on was skydiving. “I was like, ‘I want to go skydiving.’ And my friends were like, ‘Yeah, no shot,’” he explained. “I was like, ‘Yeah, I can’t skydive.’”
During the panel, Christopher said he’s “tried everything” to deal with his weight struggles over the years. “I was doing meal delivery things in high school, and I remember feeling like a weirdo when I was bringing weird lunches to school,” he shared. “It’s not an overnight thing, but it took a lot of trial and error. And even still to this day … when you’re saying, ‘oh, before and after photos’ … I don’t feel like I’m an ‘after’ yet. I don’t feel like I’m at the point.”

He also revealed that he lost 30 pounds in less than two months after choosing to give up bread for the Christian season of Lent this year. “I was like, ‘Well, if I’m giving up bread, I might as well just take the opportunity and I’m a good Catholic boy, so I’m not going to break it,’” he stated. “And that was my one rule. I was like, ‘I’m not going to break Lent.’ And so, I lost 30 pounds just through that.”
Christopher showed off his body transformation at Saturday’s event by sporting a simple white button-up shirt, black trousers and white sneakers. The panel marked one of the first times Christopher has publicly opened up about his weight loss.
Christopher’s comments come after a handful of recent outings with his famous family after staying under the radar over the years. Christopher is the youngest of Arnold, 77, and his ex-wife Shriver’s four kids, including Katherine, 35, Christina, 33, and Patrick, 31. Arnold also shares his son Joseph, 27, with Mildred Patricia Baena.

Back in February, Christopher supported his older brother Patrick at the season 3 premiere of The White Lotus in Los Angeles. The siblings posed for red carpet pics with their sisters, Shriver, 69, Katherine’s husband, Chris Pratt, and Patrick’s fiancée, Abby Champion.
Katherine shared a sweet Instagram snap with her three younger siblings in honor of National Siblings Day last month. “My favorites forever and always,” she captioned the April 10 photo, which saw Christopher sporting a navy T-shirt and grey athletic shorts.
Days later, Christopher was spotted attending an Easter brunch with his family at the Restoration Hardware in Los Angeles. He kept things casual for the April 20 outing, wearing a long-sleeved navy shirt, khaki pants and white sneakers.
