A stretch of Broadway in Bangor that passes under Interstate 95 will be narrowed to one lane for eastbound drivers later this week as work on the overpass bridges continues.
The closure will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Thursday, May 15, and again for the same period on Friday, May 16, according to the Maine Department of Transportation.
The lane closure will allow workers to “perform backfilling operations,” Maine DOT said. Traffic on I-95 and on the westbound lanes of Broadway will not be affected.
The bridge replacement project, which includes intersection enhancements, according to Maine DOT, started in June 2023 and is scheduled to be complete in late 2026.
