Piers Morgan responded to Kanye West storming off the set of his Uncensored show.
“Let’s have a real interview someday,” West, 47, wrote via X on Tuesday, May 6. “It’s all love.”
Within hours, Morgan, 60, responded to West’s message.
“We could have had one yesterday if you hadn’t run away before I could ask you any questions,” Morgan said. “When you’re prepared to actually do that, let me know.”
Kanye West Storms Off During Piers Morgan Interview Following Argument
West and influencer Sneako (real name Nicolas Kenn De Balinthazy) were guests on the Tuesday broadcast of Uncensored. During the sit-down, the rapper and Morgan went toe-to-toe over the former’s social media usage before West abruptly left the room.
“They literally ran away from me asking them questions,” Morgan claimed via X on Wednesday, May 7. “It was historic cowardice.”
While West has not further addressed the interview fallout, Morgan also accused him of “costing us time and money.”
“My patience was almost running out,” Morgan said in a Wednesday social media video. “And then I was told in the middle of another debate [that] he’s ready and would do it. Then, I got told, ‘Actually, he’s taking a phone call.’ Then, he came back, so his greatness was now available for me to talk to him. I did talk to him for about three minutes.”
Kanye West’s Most Intriguing Quotes of All Time
According to Morgan, he began by asking West “how he was.”
“He pointed to the backdrop behind me, rather like mine here, a very pleasant backdrop [in] Mallorca, which implied he was in a great place,” Morgan recalled. “I said, ‘You seem reasonably happy and content, which is in direct contrast to what is going on with you on social media, where you have 32 million followers.’”
He added, “At that point, he went into a great, theatrical strop [a British slang term for bad mood]. ‘It’s not 32 million.’ Apparently, it was 33 million.”
During the interview, West fired back at Morgan’s line of questioning.
Stars Who Have Responded to Kanye West’s Controversial Tweets
“I already disagree. It’s not in contrast — there’s so many people and artists that are championing the idea of someone being able to just express who they really are, and have been able to go through the war of being attacked by the banks, being attacked, you know, by the banks — that’s the best way to put it,” West said. “Being attacked by the banks, and to still be here with this view is, you know, that’s the win. So I think that’s — I’m in contrast to your contrast.”
West then accused Morgan of “not taking accountability or responsibility” to know his exact social media statistics, telling the British TV host that they could “circle back when [he] can count.”
Sneako, 26, also left in solidarity with West.
“That’s it for Ye,” Sneako added on the broadcast. “Nice to meet you, Piers.”
