The Voice is inching closer to crowning a brand-new winner for season 27.
On Monday, May 5, NBC’s singing competition series concluded the playoff rounds where coaches John Legend, Adam Levine, Michael Bublé and Kelsea Ballerini were forced to choose two out of their five remaining singers to advance into the live shows.
“I think this is truly the most uncomfortable and nervous I’ve been since I’ve taken this seat this season,” Ballerini, 31, shared with host Carson Daly before she had to say goodbye to three team members. “I still get told ‘not this time’ or ‘no’ all the time. I know how that feels. I try it on often.”
As for Levine, 46, he tried his best to explain how he came to his decision on who was worthy of a spot in the semi-finals this May.

“Please understand that the decision I’m going to make now is based 1,000 percent on who I felt thrived tonight the most, who is ready right now,” he said. “I have a lot of respect for all five of you.”
In a surprise twist nobody saw coming, Daly, 51, revealed at the end of the playoffs that each coach can pick one additional singer to advance to the live shows.
“We’ve always intended to keep the best artists on the show for the longest amount of time,” he explained. “We’re going to allow each of you to bring back one more artist for the live shows. The Super Save is on.”
While fans have to wait until Monday, May 12, to see who the coaches pick, keep reading to see who has made it to the live shows thus far. The Voice airs Mondays on NBC at 8 p.m. ET and streams the next day on Peacock.

The 19-year-old Michigan native has wowed Ballerini from the beginning thanks to her audition of “You Are My Sunshine” by The Pine Ridge Boys.
“The opposite of a one-trick pony is what Iris is,” Ballerini gushed. “Careers are all about right place and right time and right people. She’s a true testament to that. Season 26, no chairs, and then she’s in the live, baby.”

At 21 years old, the Ohio native has tackled songs from Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus and Julia Michaels during her time on The Voice.
“I’m going off of the growth that I’ve been able to witness in this artist,” Ballerini shared. “Alanna is moving forward to the live show because everything she’s shown us is just top-tier, top-shelf gorgeous. We stan the queen.”

Ever since she auditioned to Ángela Aguilar’s “La Llorona,” the 22-year-old Washington native has impressed all the coaches — especially Levine.
“Lucia is a beautiful voice but a unique soul,” he said. “Forget the voice. I’m just a fan. I want to hear her record.”

After stealing the 33-year-old California resident from Team John, Levine has been blown away by his artist.
“Colby decided to be a big ole star right in front of our eyes just now,” he said after the playoffs. “I think that this guy can go on to win this thing. I think he’s got the charisma, he’s got the voice, he’s got the swag. Going into the lives, Team Adam is very strong.”

The 23-year-old Nebraska native has captivated Bublé ever since she performed Paramore’s “Still Into You” at the blind auditions.
“I think Jadyn is going to rock the live shows,” Bublé shared. “Her talent and her star quality is just nonnegotiable. That voice is so special and unique. When people listen to the radio, they’re going to know it can be nobody else but Jadyn.”

It takes a special singer to perform his own coach’s song on TV. But ever since David, 34, took on Bublé’s hit single “Home,” the Florida native proved he isn’t playing games.
“There’s nobody like him — one of the greatest, most unique voices that I’ve heard,” Bublé said. “I think Adam David is going to keep getting better and better every single live show. This man tells the truth. That’s what we want. We want to believe.”

At just 21, Battle has knocked the coaches’ socks off with his covers of Aretha Franklin and Muni Long songs.
“I had to pick Bryson,” Legend explained. “Everybody’s just at a loss for words when they see someone with his range, with his unique God given ability to just sing.”

In just a matter of weeks, the 33-year-old Philadelphia native proved he can cover everyone from Billie Eilish to Lynyrd Skynyrd and Bob Marley.
“I picked Renzo because I just see his vision,” Legend said. “I see him making records. I see him on big stages.”
