K-pop star Lisa is raising eyebrows with her 2025 Met Gala ensemble.

The Thai singer, who recently made her acting debut in The White Lotus, caused a stir when she arrived at The Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday, May 5, to celebrate the night’s “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” theme. Wearing Louis Vuitton from head to toe, Lisa strutted up the steps in a black lace bodysuit that she accessorized with a single-breasted blazer and sheer LV monogrammed tights.

But it was the pattern on the blazer and bodysuit that captured the most attention — specifically the lacy pattern, which featured various female faces.

The Cut put it more bluntly, asking in a headline, “Is That Really Rosa Parks on Lisa’s Crotch?”

The Most Shocking Nearly Naked Looks at the 2025 Met Gala

“It appears to be a collage of faces of different women, including at least one that looks more than a little bit like Rosa Parks,” The Cut’s Chantal Fernandez wondered on Monday. “Was this lace print meant to honor historical Black figures but ended up just being visible essentially as panties? Or are they just random faces?”

According to Louis Vuitton, “The lace replicates elements of an artwork by the American artist Henry Taylor depicting portraits of figures who have been a part of the artist’s life,” the brand said in a statement to The New York Times, without specifically identifying the women represented in the lace.

Taylor has painted Barack and Michelle Obama as well as Pharrell Williams, the creative director for menswear at Louis Vuitton. The artist partnered with Williams, 52, on his 2023 runway show in Paris, embroidering portraits on suits and jackets.

“If this was going to be the print then wearing panties with the print was definitely a choice and I think a bad one at that. Tailored shorts would have been better,” a commenter wrote on The Cut’s Instagram post about Lisa’s look.

Sabrina Carpenter and More Stars Slay Pantless Trend at 2025 Met Gala

“The first faux pas of the evening,” another person remarked.

Lisa’s pants-less outfit was one of many nearly naked looks at the gala. Sabrina Carpenter stunned in a burgundy Louis Vuitton bodysuit, which she paired with platform heels and a cropped blazer. On the carpet, Carpenter told Vogue that Williams designed the getup for her because, “You’re quite short, so no pants for you.”

Meanwhile, Halle Berry showed some skin in a LaQuan Smith dress with sheer cutouts and Dua Lipa flaunted her curves in a see-through Chanel dress featuring a black bra top, a crisscross bodice and a feathered skirt that revealed her legs. Her biggest accessory: Boyfriend Callum Turner.
