We’re not even halfway through 2025, but TV obsessives have already been served a smorgasbord of high-quality shows that are impossible not to watch.

Whether you like comedy, drama, mystery, action or all of the above, there’s something for you in this lineup.

Watch With Us recommends these 5 shows if you need to watch the best TV shows of the 2025 season so far. Check out our recs, as well as info on where to watch the shows, below.

‘The Pitt’ (2025-Present)

Everyone is talking about The Pitt. ER star Noah Wyle makes a triumphant return to the medical procedural genre in a series featuring a hook reminiscent of 24. The story is told in real time, with every episode coinciding with one hour out of a 15-hour shift in the emergency room at Pittsburgh Trauma Hospital. If you think that sounds intense, you’re right — it really is.

The Pitt is a captivating series that real emergency room doctors say accurately portrays the emotional toll of their job. Wyle shines in his emotional role as Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch, creating a TV doctor you both trust with your life and want to give a big hug. It’s a frenetic, energetic show with high stakes and great performances.

‘The Studio’ (2025-Present)

If you’ve ever wondered how some truly terrible movies get given enormous budgets while brilliant gems get passed over, you need to watch The Studio. Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, the writers behind Superbad, Pineapple Express and many more hysterical Hollywood blockbusters, created this smart, satirical Apple TV+ series.

Rogen plays Matt Remick, the newly appointed head of Continental Studios. Matt tries to balance his passion for making fantastic art with the need to make billions of dollars for the company — but it typically doesn’t work out the way he’d like.

The supporting cast is equally memorable, with Catherine O’Hara (Schitt’s Creek) playing Matt’s predecessor and mentor while Kathryn Hahn (Agatha All Along) plays the studio’s blunt head of marketing. Ike Barinholtz (The Mindy Project) stars as Matt’s best friend Sal Saperstein, who was passed over for the studio head gig.

A Guide to Netflix’s Biggest TV, True Crime and Movie Releases in 2025

Every episode features cameos from stars as varied as Anthony Mackie, Martin Scorsese and Zac Efron. Whether you’re a cinephile, a Rogen/Goldberg comedy fan or just a fan of great television, don’t miss this series.

‘Severance’ (2022-Present)

This darkly funny mystery series reached Game of Thrones levels of water-cooler conversation in its second season. It’s impossible not to get sucked into Severance, which stars Adam Scott (Parks and Recreation) as an employee at biotechnology corporation Lumon Industries.

Scott’s character and everyone else who works at Lumon have undergone a medical procedure called “severance,” which separates one’s memories of life in the office from those of the outside world. Everyone who has undergone severance has two distinct personalities: the “innie” who exists only in the office and the “outie” who interacts with the rest of the world. This system is soon revealed to be darker and more complex than any Lumon employee could have expected.

Produced by Ben Stiller, Severance combines wit and humor with compelling drama. It’s a scathing critique of corporate culture, especially the way our work often defines our identity.

‘Daredevil: Born Again’ (2025-Present)

Before the Marvel Cinematic Universe became the all-encompassing monolith it is today, Netflix hosted a series of “street-level” superhero shows that lightly referenced the events of the MCU. Daredevil, the first of those series, received critical acclaim for its gritty look, its shockingly violent fight sequences and the stellar performances from Charlie Cox (as blind hero Matt Murdock) and Vincent D’Onofrio (as criminal mastermind Wilson Fisk). After the Disney/Marvel merger, those characters disappeared for a while — but they’re back with a (literal) vengeance in this sequel to the Netflix series.

Daredevil: Born Again underwent several production hurdles, including a change in showrunner, some recasting and a restructuring from an 18-episode season to two nine-episode seasons. That unevenness shows at times, but the fantastic performances from Cox, D’Onofrio and Jon Bernthal (reprising his role as the Punisher from Daredevil season 2) promise a bright future for this corner of the Marvel universe.

‘Dying For Sex’ (2025)

Dying for Sex is based on the true story of a woman who, after being diagnosed with terminal cancer, left her husband and began seeking more exciting and satisfying sexual experiences. Molly (a powerful Michelle Williams) moves in with her best friend Nikki (the always-entertaining Jenny Slate) and begins exploring the kinkiest, most adventurous sexual encounters she can find.

13 Must-Watch Shows on Hulu to Stream Right Now (April 2025)

The relationship between Molly and Nikki is the true core of this show, which makes sense — it’s based on a podcast the friends hosted about this experience. The two women learn from and support each other — Nikki becomes more responsible by taking care of Molly, while Molly is inspired by Nikki’s free-spirited nature. It’s a beautiful, highly emotional limited series that will generate equal amounts of laughs and tears.
