Bangor police arrested an Oregon man after he allegedly fought with officers who were trying to remove him from a Main Street business.
Police were called to the unnamed business on Wednesday morning about a person who was refusing to leave the property, Bangor Police Sgt. Jason McAmbley said in a news release.
When the two officers arrived, they found Devin Anderson, 34, of Lebanon, Oregon, outside the building. The officers asked him to leave, but he refused and then fought with them when they tried to arrest him for trespassing, McAmbley said.
Anderson allegedly drove one of the officers’ head into the pavement before the police were able to control him. He was brought to Penobscot County Jail and charged with assaulting an officer, a Class C felony, along with criminal trespassing and violating conditions of release, McAmbley said.
The officer was treated for a concussion at a local hospital.
Anderson is on probation for offenses in Oregon. McAmbley said it is unknown if he will be
extradited back to the state.
