Jason Kelce couldn’t resist poking fun at one of his brother Travis Kelce’s old tweets.

“Before we jump into it, we are going to talk a little bit about Easter weekend,” Jason, 37, said at the top of his and Travis’ “New Heights” podcast on Wednesday, April 23. “We have potentially the greatest tweet ever tweeted on Easter day. This is the best thing ever.”

Jason was referencing one of Travis’ tweets from April 2010, which read, “Happy easter to all!!! #shoutout to Jesus for takin one for the team … haha.”

“Listen, we don’t give Jesus enough shout-outs for taking one for the team, if we’re all being honest,” Jason quipped during the podcast. While Travis, 35, called his tweet “so f***ing dumb,” he agreed that Jesus was the “best leader out there.”

Jason Kelce Went ‘Months’ Without Talking to Travis Kelce Before Podcast

Jason went on to joke that his “favorite part” of the post was the “’haha’ at the end.” Travis clarified that he “wanted to make sure everybody knew I was having a good time joking about this, but I couldn’t take it too serious[ly].”

In addition to the religious aspects of the holiday, Travis said he also enjoyed having “no school” during the Easter season as a kid. “Was that why this was tweeted?” Jason asked, to which Travis replied, “Of course.”

Cracking up, Jason added, “I thought it was like a realization that this guy died for our sins. It was just about the free day. That’s so good. That’s great.”

Before wrapping up the discussion, Travis realized that he didn’t get off school on Easter itself, as the holiday always takes place on a Sunday. Instead, he was actually thinking of Good Friday.

“Usually you’ll get an Easter Monday [off] sometimes,” Jason noted. “Our girls are off Easter Monday.” (Jason shares four daughters — Wyatt, 5, Ellie, 4, Bennett, 2, and 1-month-old Finn — with his wife, Kylie Kelce.)

The brothers didn’t share how they celebrated Easter this year on the podcast. Their mother, Donna Kelce, seemingly spent the holiday aboard Royal Caribbean’s Symphony of the Seas cruise ship.

“Decided to take a trip on the elevator bar on the Symphony of the Seas during downtime!!” she captioned a Tuesday, April 22, Instagram video of one of the boat’s crew members teaching guests a dance as the bar she was sitting at rose to a new floor of the ship.

Wednesday’s “New Heights” episode was not the first time Jason and Travis have dug up the latter’s old social media posts on the podcast. Jason joked that his brother’s tweets were “the biggest news” of the week on a November 2023 episode, as many of Travis’ past posts went viral after he began dating Taylor Swift a few months prior.

“I will say that I’ve been trying to get all those tweets deleted,” Travis said of his digital footprint at the time. “Like, since I’ve gotten to the [NFL], I’ve been like, ‘Gosh, I want all those things to get deleted.’ And sure enough, it came surface level and everybody f***ing dove into 2011. What a f***ing year that was.”

He added with a laugh, “I was just using Twitter as, like, a diary. I’m just out here saying nonsense.”
