Billy Ray Cyrus’ ex-wife Firerose is concentrating on work amid the musician’s budding romance with Elizabeth Hurley.
Just two days after Hurley, 59, debuted her relationship with Cyrus, 63, via a PDA-filled Instagram post, a source close to Firerose, 36, exclusively told Us Weekly that the singer is “currently focused on her music.”
“She’s rising in her next chapter of artistic evolution, which reflects the profound strength, healing and transformation she’s been forged through,” the insider told Us. “As an advocate for narcissistic abuse survivors, she’s living her purpose by uplifting others out of the darkness with God’s love at the forefront. She’s devoted to lighting the way for those still suffering in toxic environments.“
Firerose, an Australian-born singer, married Cyrus in October 2023 and in May 2024, the “Achy Breaky Heart” singer filed for an annulment citing irreconcilable differences and “inappropriate marital conduct” as the cause of their breakup.

The split turned ugly in the months that followed with Cyrus requesting a temporary restraining order from Firerose in June 2024, per court documents obtained by Us at the time. The documents alleged that Firerose made unauthorized purchases and requested that he be reimbursed. One day later, Firerose accused Cyrus of domestic abuse in her own divorce filing, which Cyrus denied at the time.
The pair’s divorce was finalized that August, with Cyrus’ lawyers confirming the news via a statement shared with Us. “The parties reached a settlement agreement at mediation to dissolve their 7-month marriage, and the Court declared the parties divorced this morning. Mr. Cyrus is relieved to put this nightmare behind him,” Cyrus’ lawyers, Rose Palermo and Jason Talley, said. “Further, a couple of weeks ago, prior to mediation, Ms. Hodges legally changed her last name from ‘Hodges’ to ‘Cyrus.’ Mr. Cyrus feels that this validates his assertion that his ex-wife’s sole impetus for marrying him was to obtain his last name.”

To complicate matters further, Cyrus’ son Trace expressed concern for his dad in a public statement following the musician’s criticized performance during January’s Liberty Ball. “Sadly, the man that I wanted so desperately to be just like I barely recognize now. It seems this world has beaten you down and it’s become obvious to everyone but you,” Trace wrote via Instagram at the time. “You may be upset with me for posting this but I really couldn’t care less at this point. Me and the girls have been genuinely worried about you for years but you’ve pushed all of us away.” (Cyrus adopted Trace and his sister Brandi Cyrus after marrying their mother, Tish Cyrus, in 1992. Today, Cyrus is seemingly living in a love bubble with Hurley, who shared a video of her new man riding through the countryside via Instagram on Tuesday. Hurley tagged Cyrus in the carousel post and captioned it with a red heart.
