Rachel Accurso has spent nearly six years entertaining toddlers the world over.
Accurso, better known to her more than 14 million YouTube subscribers and millions of fans on social media as Ms. Rachel, announced Tuesday in an Instagram post that she has welcomed a newborn daughter into her life.
Her name is Susannah.
In her post, Accurso said Susannah was born via a surrogate because Accurso was unable to carry the pregnancy for “medical reasons.”
“We are now all family forever. We have immense gratitude and a deep bond. It’s been a truly beautiful experience. I’m in awe of her,” she wrote.
Before she became a superstar for toddlers, Accurso grew up in Sanford and went on to graduate from the University of Southern Maine. She earned a master’s degree in music from New York University.
Accurso, 42, started her YouTube channel with her husband, Aron, a Broadway music director, in 2019, just in time for the COVID-19 pandemic, entertaining millions of homebound toddlers. In January, she began streaming a show on Netflix.
You might say baby Susannah will be the most envied toddler in the world.
Correction: An earlier version of this report misstated that Susannah was Rachel Accurso’s first child.
