Alan Jackson brought his wife, Denise Jackson, on stage during one of his final concerts for an emotional dance.
The country icon, 66, was playing a show in Texas on Saturday, April 5, when he brought out Denise, 65, near the end of his set, as captured in a TikTok video. During the song “Remember When,” Alan began motioning to Denise, who was watching from backstage. After a brief moment of hesitation, she joined her husband on stage, and they shared a dance and a kiss as the band continued playing.
“Remember When,” released in 2003, is about Alan and Denise’s relationship, which began when they were in high school. The duo tied the knot in 1979 and later welcomed three daughters.
“Remember when / Thirty seemed so old / Now looking back, it’s just a stepping stone,” Alan sings in one verse. “To where we are, where we’ve been / Said we’d do it all again / Remember when.”

One day after the concert, Alan celebrated his wife’s birthday via Instagram, sharing a photo of the pair posing on a tour bus. “Happy Birthday, Denise! 
,” he wrote on Sunday, April 6.
Denise has been by her husband’s side since he announced his farewell tour in 2022. The year prior, Alan revealed his battle with Charcot-Marie Tooth disease, a hereditary disorder that affects the nervous system, causing progressive loss of muscle tissue and loss of sensation in the arms and legs. Patients may also experience trouble balancing and difficulty walking.
“There’s no cure for it, but it’s been affecting me for years,” the “Chattahoochee” singer said during a 2021 interview on the Today show. “And it’s getting more and more obvious.”
Alan went on to note that the disease doesn’t shorten life expectancy, but it can make movement difficult — especially for someone who is used to performing on stage every night.

While accepting the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2022 CMA Awards, Alan dedicated the trophy to Denise.
“I’m probably not always the easiest person to love, but she’s been there and helped me through hard times,” he said. “And we’ve shared great times. The good, the bad, the happy, and the sad, we’ve survived a lot. I just want to thank her, because she’s held me up all these years and she’s my best friend. And she gave me a wonderful family.”
Alan’s Last Call: One More for the Road Tour began in 2022 and continued last year. It’s currently set to end May 17 in Milwaukee.
