Queen of Versailles star Jackie Siegel’s husband, David Alan Siegel, has died. He was 89.

“I wanted to personally reach out and let you know that my husband, David Alan Siegel, passed away this morning,” Jackie, 59, wrote via Instagram on Saturday, April 5. “I was lucky enough to share twenty-five wonderful years with David, and together we raised eight incredible children. His life and legacy live on through them all.”

She continued, “To say we are devastated is an understatement. But I find comfort in knowing that Victoria was there to greet him — the first thing he heard was ‘Dad,’ followed by a big hug. And of course, Steven is there too. That thought brings me so much peace.”

Jackie married David, the owner of Westgate Resorts, in 2000. Together, they shared children Daniel, Debbie, Drew, David, Jordan, Jacqueline, Jonquil and Victoria, the latter of whom died at age 18 in 2015 after a drug overdose. (David and Jackie later started a namesake nonprofit in Victoria’s memory.)

“I know you all loved him too, which is why I wanted to share this with you,” Jackie continued in her social media tribute. “Thank you for your love and support during this difficult time. It means the world to us.”

The socialite concluded, “Life is a precious gift from God — and my husband has found his peace with Him. Embrace and cherish every moment — and thank God.”

Jackie, a former pageant queen, is best known as the “Queen of Versailles” because of her family’s lavish and luxe tastes. As revealed in a 2012 documentary of the same name, Jackie and David constructed a large mansion inspired by the Palace of Versailles outside of Paris.

“I tried to copy as much of it as I could,” she said in her Discovery+ doc, Reign Again, in 2022. “We definitely are going to have the Hall of Mirrors. [There are] lots of columns, and it’s a French architecture. The house is basically French, but I am putting some modern touches in there.”

According to Jackie, her “home design phrase” would be “overboard is never too much.” She and David also imported several materials from France to add authenticity to the property.

“One of my favorite things is the pub because that was from the late 1800s, so that’s a really special piece,” she said. “Also, we are importing all the precious stones for our floors in the great room from seven different countries. … I feel so amazing when I totally finish a room because a rendering is totally different than being there and looking at all the glory and the glamour.”

Jackie, however, confessed that she regrets going with a blue mansard roof on the property.

“But, my husband wanted the blue shingles, so we went with it,” she explained. “I wish I knew how hard it was hard [to build a house] or what a headache it is.”

Jackie’s life is now the inspiration for the upcoming Broadway musical, Queen of Versailles, starring Kristin Chenoweth.
