Police are investigating a possible threat that led to the evacuation of the Mount View middle and high schools in Thorndike on Tuesday afternoon.
Little information was immediately available about the nature of the threat.
By 2:30 p.m., buses had already taken many students away from the schools. Multiple fire trucks were parked outside the buildings.
April Leeman, an assistant principal at the middle school, said she did not have more information.
“They said evacuate the building, and I said OK,” Leeman said. “I have no idea [what time the threat took place].”
