The competition between coaches is heating up on The Voice.
On the Monday, March 31, episode of NBC’s singing competition series, Adam Levine and Michael Bublé found themselves fighting over one of John Legend’s singers.
It all began when John, 46, paired up BD.ii and Kolby Cordell for the knockout rounds.
“That’s quite a way to start it off,” Adam, 46, shared after the performance. “BD, I was just so transfixed by your whole performance. … [Kolby,] I love your rasp but it felt like there was a little bit of strain in there from being tired … but you did an incredible job.”

While John ultimately chose BD to advance to the playoff rounds, both Michael, 49, and Adam quickly pressed their steal button in hopes of getting Kolby on their team for the next round of competition.
“[Kolby,] you’ve done nothing but get better and better,” Adam gushed. “I also want to clarify about your rasp. It was just an observation. We want to keep the rasp; we just want to make it easy.”
Michael stepped in and playfully replied, “Yah walk it back Levine, walk it back.”
After Adam told his fellow coach to “shut up,” Michael responded, “Come on dude, let’s go.”
Kelsea Ballerini, who was literally stuck in the middle of the competitive coaches, chimed in by saying, “Mom and dad are fighting.”
When Michael finally had the chance to make a case, he made some jokes at the expense of his competitor.
“Obviously, Adam Levine has been here for 43 years,” he joked. “He’s a champion of The Voice. Kolby, in this whole thing, I want to get to know you, and that helps me get to know who you want to be as an artist, and how I can advocate for you. However that is, I’d love for you to choose me. You’re great.”
Levine was part of The Voice for its first 16 seasons before stepping away for 10 seasons. He returned for season 27, which is currently airing now.

After careful consideration, Kolby chose to continue the competition on Team Adam. The Maroon 5 frontman and Michael also hugged it out after the innocent banter.
“I feel like we haven’t seen the best from [Kolby] yet,” Adam shared in his confessional before turning the topic to another singer. “I enjoy beating Michael Bublé at things, especially this.”
