Hollywood actor Bruce Glover has died at the age of 92.
His son, Back to the Future star Crispin Glover, confirmed the news via Instagram on Saturday, March 29, revealing that his father had died on March 12.
“Bruce Herbert Glover,” Crispin wrote, alongside a series of throwback and recent photos. “May 2, 1932 — March 12, 2025.”
Glover died of natural causes, a spokesperson for Crispin told Us Weekly on Sunday, March 30.

Glover was best known for his role as the assassin Mr. Wint in 1971’s Diamonds Are Forever. His diverse career also included roles in Chinatown, Walking Tall, and Hard Times.
Born in Chicago in 1932, Glover developed a passion for movies from a young age.
“I was always very curious about things. She [Glover’s mother] used to take me to see movies which my father was against because he was very religious and you weren’t supposed to go to movie theaters, evil places. Which is pretty weird, anyway,” Glover said during a 2019 interview with The Original Van Gogh’s Ear Anthology website.
However, Glover’s acting career didn’t start until later. He played football at Wright Junior College in Chicago and was part of a semi-pro team before joining the U.S. Army for the Korean War in 1953.
After returning home, a bout of malaria sidelined Glover’s football career. In 1955, he took a leap into acting, auditioning for a play despite having no formal training. He landed the role, marking the beginning of a decades-long career on stage and screen.
Glover first visited Hollywood in 1965 and moved there the following year.

The actor was married to his second wife, Betty Krachey, from 1960 until her death in 2016. Glover is survived by his son, Crispin, best known for playing George McFly in Back to the Future.
Glover and Crispin collaborated in the 2007 film, It is Fine! Everything is Fine!, which Crispin directed.
Glover’s last known public appearance was in 2021, when he promoted the short film An Approximation of their Barbarous Manners. He played a fictional version of himself in the film.
