Barbara Alyn Woods confessed she and Jerry Seinfeld knew each other very well before her guest spot on Seinfeld.
“I played someone going out [on a date] with Jason Alexander … You wanna hear some dirt?” the One Tree Hill alum, 63, said on the Friday, March 28, episode of the “Drama Queens” podcast. “I used to date someone from that show.”
Before Woods revealed who it was, guesses like Larry David and Michael Richards were thrown out.
“No, I wish!” Woods quipped over the idea of being linked to the Curb Your Enthusiasm star.

Woods then revealed it was actually Seinfeld himself.
“I met him at a comedy club, and it was before he was Seinfeld,” Woods recalled of how they connected. “He did stand up and [we] even watched the pilot together when he had done the pilot.”
Woods shared that Seinfeld, now 70, asked her if she wanted to watch a preview of the pilot before it premiered. When asked if Seinfeld was “a fun hang,” Woods gushed about what a great guy he was.
“He was very serious about being funny. I think a lot of comedians are that way — So serious people [and] not what you’d expect,” she said of the actor. “[He was] super smart and intelligent and so nice to fans.”
While Woods and Seinfeld’s romance didn’t go the distance, they remained on good terms. The pair stayed close enough that Woods ended up having a small role on the series in season 6.
“We ended up being friends,” she shared. “And then I ended up doing the show after we dated.”
Seinfeld would go on to marry wife Jessica Sklar. The couple, who wed in 1999 and remain married, share three children: Sascha, 24, Julian, 22, and Shepherd, 18.
Woods, for her part, tied the knot with John Lind in 1991. The pair share three daughters, Natalie, Emily and Alyvia. Woods and Lind divorced in 2021. The actress has been dating Golden Bachelorette alum Mark Anderson since October 2024. (Mark is the father of Kelsey Anderson who got engaged to Joey Graziadei on The Bachelor last year.)
Woods confessed on Friday that she had her eye on Mark when he made his Bachelor Nation debut during the hometown dates.

“Mark was there being all cute and dimpley and sweet,” she gushed. “He’s just in the background. He’s the dad.”
Woods revealed that she found Mark on social media and decided to DM him. However, she didn’t hear from him at the time because he was filming The Golden Bachelorette. When he returned home, the pair finally connected.
“It’s been nonstop ever since,” she continued. “He’s such a good guy. Just have to get used to being with good people. Like, he’s a good guy.”
