George and Amal Clooney are in their New York City era — and they’re loving every moment of it.
“George and Amal have been loving being in NYC,” an insider tells Us Weekly exclusively of the couple’s new life in the Big Apple with their 7-year-olds, Alexander and Ella. “They usually don’t spend that much time in the city so they have a lot of people they have been seeing. They both go to work during the day, and the twins are here with them too.”
The Oscar winner, 63, is making his Broadway debut in Good Night, and Good Luck, the stage adaptation of his 2005 film of the same name, while the human rights lawyer, 47, is working on numerous international causes from the United Nations.
But it’s not all business for the Clooneys.

“They have hosted a few dinner parties for friends at their home,” the insider adds. “They are very much a couple who enjoys more private date nights.”
Ahead of the show’s April 3 opening night, George spoke to The New York Times about his bond with Amal.
“I’m proud to be in the same room with her. I’m proud to be her husband. I’m proud to be the father of kids with her,” he gushed to the outlet.
George is acutely aware of time going by, though, especially as a father to young children.
“I had this conversation with Amal when I turned 60,” he told the New York Times. “I said, ‘Look, I can still play full-court basketball. I can still run around. I can still do pretty much everything I did when I was 30. But in 30 years, I’m 90. That’s a real number.’ My dad just hit that. And there are some things you’re not doing no matter how many granola bars you eat.”

He continued: “I told Amal, ‘We have to focus on the next 20, 25 years of making sure that we’re jamming in everything we can.’ Not just work, because no one at the end of their life goes, ‘God, I wish I worked more.’”
But at the end of the day, the Clooneys are just grateful to have found forever in one another.
“There’s a thing about finding the person that you needed to find, particularly at a certain age, and everything from then on is easy,” says George.
