The Hampden Hannaford is getting a makeover.
The renovation at the supermarket on Western Avenue began this month, which the grocer said Thursday will improve the shopping experience for customers.
Once finished, customers will have a greater selection of grab-and-go meals, new meat and seafood displays, more dairy and frozen food selections, and a wider array of organic and local products, according to Hannaford.
More self-checkouts will be installed during the renovation.
“We’re committed to serving the Hampden community, and want to make it as easy and convenient as possible for our customers to enjoy fresh, quality food at a dependable value,” the Hampden store manager Jon Ivey said. “We thank our Hampden customers for their patience and understanding during this project, and look forward to unveiling the newly remodeled store in the coming months.”
Signs will be installed to inform customers about changes and developments, including new locations to find products. Some employees will be designated to help customers navigate the store during the changes.
The remodel is expected to be finished by this fall. Hannaford’s store hours and services will remain unchanged.
