Grant Ellis has given out his final rose.
After being torn between his final two, Juliana and Litia, on the Monday, March 24, finale of The Bachelor, the 31-year-old broke up with Litia, 31, and got engaged to Juliana, 28 — but not without a little drama.
“I love you very much. I want to give you everything you deserve, but I’m not your person,” Grant told Litia on proposal day. “I’m sorry that it got to this point. My emotional connection is farther somewhere else.”
“When did it change?” she replied.
“It didn’t change. I do love you — I don’t want you to feel like I haven’t been open or honest,” he said. “I hope you don’t look at me differently.”
“Well, I do, for sure,” Litia fired back, noting that Juliana is a “beautiful person” who should have “a lot of questions” about Grant based on how things played out.

As he walked Litia to her car, Grant asked if he’d been misleading. “The switch-up is crazy,” she replied. “I’m disappointed. … I just want to be so clear that I’m confused and I’m sad. And I’m mad.”
During the live portion of the show, Litia claimed that Grant said during their dates that he could “stop the show right now” because he was so sure Litia was his “No. 1 emotional connection.”
When Grant jointed her on stage, she revealed more details — hinting that Grant “said a lot” during overnights and revealing that he gave her a journal to write down her feelings during their time on the show for them to read at the end. He apologized for speaking with such confidence and speaking “too soon.” Litia shot back and said there was “no transparency” from Grant that he was conflicted.
Back in the Dominican Republic, Juliana arrived and told Grant that she wanted to spend the rest of her life with him.
“Through this whole journey, you’ve been someone who has inspired me,” Grant said. “I truly believe that you are somebody who is my best friend and I’m so grateful for our journey. … I’ll be there for you as your man, as your friend, as your partner. Juliana, will you marry me?”
Juliana said “a million times yes” as she cried tears of joy.
Earlier in the episode, Grant said “I love you” to both women (he first told Litia during last week’s episode) after they met his parents. He was subsequently torn over who to pick. “I went to bed last night thinking I knew what I wanted, but I woke up and realized I don’t,” he told the cameras. “I feel alone and I have to make a decision. … I don’t know.”
As he struggled, Grant’s dad came to see him — and told him to go with his heart. “I’m just scared that when I leave here, things will be different,” Grant said, to which his dad reminded him that his fears were normal but not a reason to be scared to make a choice.
Grant’s agony over his final pick has been teased all season, with host Jesse Palmer hinting that it got down to the wire. In his Us cover story last month, Grant shed light on what was going through his mind as he struggled with his decision.

“It definitely wasn’t [down to] one hour,” he said of the show making it seem like he made his decision at the final moment. “There were external factors that played into me being hesitant. You don’t wanna hurt people. You have a lot of weight in terms of being a lead of a different ethnic group. There’s a different level of pressure that comes with being a man of color in this role — and a different expectation. It leads to some added thinking that deserves a little extra time. There were some things that really weighed and were hard for me.”
He added, “But ultimately, you go with what makes you happy and you go with what you feel is gonna be the best decision for your future.”
For Grant, he hopes his future includes two kids.

“Preferably a boy and a girl. But if I have two girls or two boys, it doesn’t matter,” he said, adding that he’s willing to relocate for his partner. “If things play out the way they should, I’ll do whatever is gonna make us happy, whether that’s me moving or us traveling or us getting another piece of property. I’m willing to go that distance.”
While he’s caught some heat on social media for falling in love with both women, Grant is confident he handled things the best way he could.

“I don’t live with regret. I’m very happy, and I wouldn’t have it any other way,” he said at the time. “If I could rewind time, I would make the same decision.”
