Wilson Phillips singer Carnie Wilson is glad to be along for the ride on her daughter Lola’s American Idol journey.
“I couldn’t be more proud of our @lola.bonfiglio Her pure beautiful voice shines so bright!!!!!” Wilson, 56, gushed via Instagram on Sunday, March 23, after Lola’s debut on the singing competition. “To witness your child be brave like that and sing from her heart…and have three incredible artists tell her that her voice is pure and gorgeous …shows us that her love for singing is what it’s all about. @americanidol PS… thank you to everyone for your support! It means so much!!”
Wilson uploaded a photo of herself celebrating with Lola, 19, after she earned her ticket to Hollywood from judges Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie. In the snap, Wilson’s husband, Robert Bonfiglio, who accompanied Lola during her audition, brandished his guitar in the air.
Lola shared a message of her own after her audition aired on Sunday, sharing a pic of herself with her parents and aunt Wendy Wilson.

Wilson Phillips bandmate Chynna Phillips hyped up Lola’s performance in the comments section, writing, “This was EXQUIZ!!!! 
Lola, you are a natural! So freaking fun & exciting. Congratulations 
.”
Lola took the Idol judges — and viewers — by surprise when she brought out her famous family members to sing with her before officially beginning her audition. Carnie and Wendy, 55, harmonized with Lola on their band’s hit song “Hold On,” which left Underwood, 42, feeling overwhelmed.
“I don’t know how to proceed now,” the country singer teased.
Underwood later noted that Lola’s talent was in her blood, saying, “You can tell that that is a thing with families, that everybody is genetically designed to sound good together.”

Carnie and Wendy stepped aside so Lola could showcase her voice solo. She impressed the judges with her take on “Rainbow” by Kacey Musgraves. Bryan said the song perfectly suited “the tone and the pureness” of Lola’s voice, while Richie encouraged her to “hold the story out longer.”
Before earning her ticket to Hollywood, Lola embraced the words of wisdom. “If I’m on this show, I will push myself,” she told the judges. “That’s why I want to be on American Idol, I want to grow.”
As the family celebrated together, Carnie told her daughter, “Bottom line, you were born to sing.”
Carnie, the daughter of Beach Boys singer Brian Wilson, married Bonfiglio in 2000. The couple welcomed Lola five years later, followed by daughter Luciana in 2009.
Along with Lola, Idol season 23 features Backstreet Boys singer Brian Littrell‘s son, Baylee, who sang an original song for his audition.
