A serious crash has shut down Interstate 295 in Scarborough.
Two vehicles crashed on the southbound side of the highway near the toll plaza Friday morning, according to Shannon Moss, a spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety.
That has shut down both sides of I-295 between mile markers 3 and 4.
Moss said that drivers should seek alternate routes or be prepared for delays. Southbound traffic is being diverted at exit 5, while northbound traffic is being diverted at exit 4.
No additional information was immediately available.
