When an animal is in a spot of trouble, firefighters are often called on to save the day.
We’ve heard the stories of firefighters rescuing cats from trees and dogs from roofs. But what about a horse?
Well, on Sunday, firefighters in Alton, Bradford and Lagrange were called on to help a wayward horse.
The horse was on a railroad bridge over a stream and needed help getting off safely, according to the Alton Fire Department.
Firefighters did just that, getting the horse safely back to firm ground.
Train traffic was stopped temporarily to ensure the firefighters could safely do their work.
No additional information was immediately available.
