A fuel truck crash closed a lane of Interstate 295 in Brunswick early Wednesday morning.
Nicholas Garcia, 28, of Cape Elizabeth was driving a 2020 Kenworth fuel truck north on I-295, near mile marker 26, about 2:43 a.m. when he left the right-side of the road and overturned, according to Shannon Moss, a spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety.
Garcia was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland, where he was treated for injuries not considered life-threatening, Moss said Wednesday.
Garcia was hauling kerosene for Irving Oil.
The fuel truck remains overturned off the interstate, where it was leaking fuel. Crews have been working to upright it and contain the spill.
Moss said that the northbound travel lane will remain closed until the wreck is cleared. Drivers have been urged to seek alternate routes.
The crash remains under investigation.
No additional information was immediately available.
