Meghan Markle is revealing the memento she kept from the set of Suits.

The Duchess of Sussex, 43, reflected on her breakout role as paralegal Rachel Zane on the hit legal drama before she became part of the British royal family.

In fact, Meghan told People in an interview published on Tuesday, March 11, that she kept a very memorable piece from her character’s wardrobe.

“It’s a time capsule for me,” she said. “I still have the pencil skirt from the first episode! That’s the one thing I kept.”

‘Suits’ Cast: Where Are They Now?

Meghan played Rachel Zane for seven seasons before leaving the show upon her engagement to Prince Harry in November 2017. Suits continued for another two seasons without Meghan and costar Patrick J. Adams, who also left at the end of season 7.

The show, which originally aired on USA Network, has seen a resurgence in popularity in recent years after being made available on Netflix.

“I’m not surprised that people are rediscovering Suits, because it was so well written and so well produced,” Meghan told People of the show’s continued popularity.

USA Network confirmed Meghan’s departure from Suits in November 2017 after she and Harry announced they would get married. (Her final episodes aired in 2018.)

A ‘Wild Ride’! Everything Meghan Markle Said About ‘Suits’ Over the Years

“From all of us at USA Network and Universal Cable Productions, we want to send our most heartfelt congratulations to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry on their engagement,” the network said in a statement. “Meghan has been a member of our family for seven years and it has been a joy to work with her. We want to thank her for her undeniable passion and dedication to Suits, and we wish her the very best.”

In an interview with the BBC at the time, Suits creator Aaron Korsh said he decided to write Meghan’s character out a year before her exit was announced.

“I knew from a year ago that this relationship was burgeoning,” Korsh said. “And I had a decision to make because I didn’t want to intrude and ask her, ‘Hey, what’s going on and what are you going to do?’ So collectively with the writers, we decided to take a gamble that these two people were in love and it was going to work out.”

Inside Meghan Markle and Patrick J. Adams’ Friendship Through the Years

“What we decided to do [was to] say, Look, I would rather have good things happen to Meghan in her life’ — which would likely mean her leaving the show,” Korsh added. “So let’s plan on that and it’s much easier to undo that, if it came to it, than to just plan on her staying forever and then finding out she’s going to go. And the only way to write a character out like that would be if they got hit by a bus or something.”

Meghan recently returned to TV screens, albeit in a different capacity, this time as the host of her own lifestyle series, With Love, Meghan, on Netflix.
