
It’s going to feel more like spring the next couple days in Bangor.
Monday morning’s snow and chill will give way to a high forecast to hit 40 degrees Fahrenheit in Bangor, according to the National Weather Service office in Caribou.
The highs will reach 40 degrees in Ellsworth, 39 degrees in Bar Harbor, 38 degrees in Machias and 36 degrees in Eastport.
Temperatures will top out in the high 20s from Presque Isle to Fort Kent on Monday.
That’s just a preview of what’s in store for Maine on Tuesday.
Highs are forecast to hit at least 48 degrees in Bangor, 45 degrees in Ellsworth, 43 degrees in Bar Harbor, 43 degrees in Machias and 42 degrees in Eastport.
It’ll be markedly warmer up north, where the mercury is expected to rise to 44 degrees in Presque Isle, 43 degrees in Caribou and 44 degrees in Fort Kent, according to the weather service.
Skies statewide are forecast to be mostly cloudy.
Colder temperatures will return in the middle of the week, but a storm system moving in from the Great Plains is expected to bring warm temperatures, strong winds and plenty of wetness this weekend, according to the weather service.
