Three people have been accused of drug trafficking in Greater Bangor.
Joseph Rusaw, 48, of Holden, Meaghan Sulinski, 37, of Holden and Geiser Baez, 20, of the Dominican Republic have been charged with aggravated trafficking of schedule W drugs, according to the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency.
As part of an investigation into fentanyl trafficking in Greater Bangor, agents arranged a purchase of fentanyl at a Bangor hotel, the MDEA said Monday.
On Thursday, Rusaw and Sulinski allegedly arrived to sell drugs to undercover agents at the hotel, where they were taken into custody. They allegedly had approximately 38 grams of fentanyl, 29 grams of methamphetamine and 3 grams of crack cocaine, according to the MDEA.
Police then tracked the suspected source to another Bangor hotel, where agents arrested Baez, who was allegedly trying to flush fentanyl in the toilet.
A search of Baez’s hotel room turned up approximately 349 grams of fentanyl, 1.5 grams of crack cocaine and $1,340 in suspected drug proceeds, according to the MDEA.
The drugs have an estimated street value of more than $40,000.
All three were taken to the Penobscot County Jail, where Rusaw remained Monday on $10,000 bail and Baez of $150,000 bail. Sulinski has been released on $500 bail.
