The crash occurred around 8 p.m. when the driver of a Ford pickup truck crossed the centerline and collided with a black SUV, according to the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office.
The female driver of the SUV sustained serious injuries and was entrapped in her vehicle. The Eddington Fire Department extricated her, and she was taken by LifeFlight of Maine to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center.
A 17-year-old passenger in the pickup sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries, while two passengers received minor injuries. All were taken to EMMC for treatment.
The pickup’s driver, Kyle Gray, 19, of Harborside, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence resulting in serious bodily injury, aggravated driving to endanger, and operating without a license beyond restrictions.
