FORT FAIRFIELD, Maine — Route 1A, also known as Limestone Road, was closed Friday morning due to a rolled over fuel truck, the Fort Fairfield Police Department said on Facebook.
As of 11 a.m., there were no further updates on the situation. Police in the post wrote that the road will be closed for an extended period of time.
“Please seek an alternate route and we will advise when the road is reopened,” the post concluded.
Earlier in the day, Fort Fairfield also shut down Route 167 near the 1A intersection on the Fort Fairfield side and at the intersection of Route 167 and Conant Road on the Presque Isle side. This was due to plow trucks and tractor trailer units stuck on the hill.
This road, according to the police, was reopened at 9:14 am.
