SCARBOROUGH – Morrison Center is pleased to welcome Shannon Mitchell as an accounting manager, effective Jan. 28.
In this role, Mitchell will supervise and support the Scarborough-based nonprofit’s finance team and collaborate with departments across the organization. Mitchell joins Morrison Center at an exciting time for the organization, as it continues to deliver high-quality community-based support services and special education for children and adults with disabilities and expand its community reach through client and community-oriented programming in its campus greenhouses.

Mitchell brings over 15 years of experience in accounting, relationship building, and compliance in the non-profit sector. Her previous roles and responsibilities include full charge bookkeeper/manager, company administrator, and most recently, senior accountant with a large non-profit based in Rhode Island. She earned a bachelor of science in business administration and management from the University of Nevada.
For more than 70 years, Morrison Center has been serving Maine children and adults with physical, developmental, and intellectual disabilities, providing special purpose private school education, day treatment, residential care, shared living options, case management, and community supports programming.
