A man was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after driving his pickup truck into a house in the Oxford County town of Sweden on Wednesday night.
The crash was reported just after 11 p.m. at 1 Lovell Road, Oxford County Sheriff Christopher Wainwright said in a news release.
The driver, 52-year-old Sean Demaggio of Wilmington, Massachusetts, drove his Ford F-250 truck through an intersection at high speed and crashed into the house, Wainwright said.
The pickup truck broke through the exterior wall of the house knocking the chimney down on top of the truck.
No one was in the house at the time of the crash, Wainwright said.

Demaggio, who was alone in the truck, was brought by ambulance to Bridgton Hospital then moved by LifeFlight helicopter to Maine Medical Center in Portland with what Wainwright described as “severe and life-threatening injuries.”
The crash remains under investigation, but police believe speed was a factor, Wainwright said.
