Focused on serving Central, Northern, Western, and Mid-Coast Maine, JA’s program manager works to ensure equity across the state in delivering JA learning experiences.

PORTLAND – Junior Achievement of Maine welcomes Mikaela Ziobro as a program manager. With a goal to impact 15,000 students in the 2024-25 school year, and expand learning experiences to more school districts, this position is crucial to achieving that goal.

Central, Northern, Western, and Mid-Coast Maine school districts account for roughly 47 perent of the classrooms served in the fall of 2024, with the spring of 2025 shaping up to be just as robust.

Equity in learning experiences is of paramount importance to JA Maine. It works to ensure as many students as possible from Aroostook County to York County have the opportunity to build skill sets in financial literacy, work and career readiness and entrepreneurship. In fact, Aroostook County was one of the largest JA Titan Challenge sites in 2024, with twenty teams from six different high schools competing in the business simulation that places students as CEOs of a cell phone company.

Ziobro’s focus will be on program management and volunteer recruitment in Central, Northern, Western, and Mid-Coast Maine, as well as maintaining and building relationships with school districts in those areas. She has a passion for expanding educational access and career exploration pathways for youth. She holds a bachelor’s in business administration from the University of Southern Maine and a master’s in educational leadership from Thomas College.

Throughout her career, she has led initiatives to enhance academic programs, strengthen community partnerships, and improve student engagement. Prior to her work in education, Mikaela spent several years in the financial services industry at the Maine Bankers Association, managing statewide events and industry partnerships.

Through its work of delivering learning experiences on financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and work and career readiness, JA Maine aims to provide students with the opportunity to work with mentors they aspire to be like, address root causes of economic mobility and build skill-sets that allow students to envision choice-filled futures, as well as showcase career opportunities in Maine.

“We are thrilled to have Mikaela on the JA Maine team.  Her experience in higher education will be an asset as we expand programming across the state,” says Vice President Jill Jamison.

Partners, stakeholders, and the community-at-large are invited to meet Mikaela in person at JA Maine’s annual community celebration, JAM Fest, hosted at The Cellars at Allagash on April 30. Mikaela can also be reached at [email protected].

Junior Achievement of Maine delivers its programs to schools at no cost. To get involved with JA Maine or bring a learning experience into your classroom, visit www.jamaine.org.
