Teddi Mellencamp has an ally in estranged husband Edwin Arroyave as she recovers from brain surgery, a source exclusively reveals in the latest issue of Us Weekly.
“Teddi and Edwin are on good terms at this moment and have put all the drama behind them,” the insider says, referring to Mellencamp’s alleged affair with her horse trainer, Simon Schroeder, that came to light after she filed for divorce from Arroyave, 47, in fall 2024.
The source notes that the “divorce is still happening” but Mellencamp’s health and recovery is now everyone’s priority.
“The divorce is not anyone’s focus at the moment,” a second insider tells Us, sharing, “Edwin wants to be there for Teddi and their family in any way they need.”
Mellencamp, 43, and Arroyave were married for 13 years before The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum announced their divorce in November 2024. That same month, Us confirmed that Mellencamp had an affair with Schroeder months before her and Arroyave split.
“Simon and Teddi had a thing several months ago but it’s not still happening,” a source exclusively told Us at the time, noting that both Mellencamp and Arroyave were unfaithful during their marriage. (A second source told Us that Arroyave cheated on Mellencamp eight years prior but claimed he had “not had an affair since.”)

The following month, Mellencamp revealed that she and Arroyave were “nesting,” meaning their kids were staying at their marital home and the exes were taking turns staying at the same home for the sake of their children.
“I can’t explain our exact timing. But both Edwin and I leave when the other one sleeps,” Mellencamp explained during a December 2024 appearance on the “Diamonds in the Rough” podcast. “We can both be there for sporting events … we’re completely happy to be around one another.”
The estranged couple share three children — daughters Slate, 12, and Dove, 4, and son Cruz, 10. Arroyave is also the father of daughter Isabella from a prior relationship.

As Mellencamp and Arroyave were learning to navigate their new normal, she had a health scare that she shared with fans earlier this month.
Mellencamp told her Instagram followers on February 12 that she was hospitalized after suffering “severe and debilitating headaches.”
After running tests, Mellencamp said her doctors found “multiple tumors on my brain,” two of which were surgically removed that day. She explained that the “remaining smaller tumors will be dealt with via radiation at a later date.”
Arroyave has been one of the people by Mellencamp’s side after the surgery, which he confirmed “went well” via his Instagram Story on February 13.
“There are many more steps, [but] Teddi is very positive,” the first source tells Us of Mellencamp’s recovery, noting that her “friends have been rallying around her.”

Longtime friend Kyle Richards has “been by her side through it all and continues to check in on her daily,” the insider says.
“Teddi [is getting] through this with people she loves by her side,” the source shares, adding that Mellencamp is “being brave and wants to be the best example for her kids.”
