BANGOR — We are proud to announce the fifth annual Black Balloon Day to be held on March 8 at the Rock Church in Bangor from 12-6 p.m. This free community-focused event will bring people together from across the state to remember those we have lost to overdose, honoring their lives and the ongoing journey of recovery.
Each year, Black Balloon Day is hosted in a different location throughout Maine, ensuring that individuals across the state have the opportunity to participate in this meaningful event. We are proud to support all pathways to recovery, and everyone is welcome to attend as we unite in remembrance and celebration of those we have lost.
Unlike traditional memorial events, Black Balloon Day will not involve the release of balloons. Instead, the day will feature multiple recovery performers, to include Colicchie, The Real Young Swagg, Benjamin Lerner, and Ryan Paige, phenomenal speakers, and the presentation of awards to individuals and organizations who have made significant contributions to recovery efforts. The event will also host a wide variety of sponsors, organizations, and companies who will be tabling to provide resources and information for attendees.
This year’s event is free to all, and we encourage people of all backgrounds to join us for an uplifting and supportive day. Whether you are in recovery, supporting a loved one, or simply looking to make a difference in the community, your presence will help make Black Balloon Day a beautiful and impactful experience.
