The Cabin Fever Reliever kicks off the sportsmen’s show season on Saturday, Feb. 22, in Brewer.

The event, put on by the Penobscot Fly Fishers, is for one day only, unlike its traditional two-day show in past years.

It is the first in a string of popular sportsmen’s shows that are held in Brewer, Orono, Presque Isle and Augusta.

Admission into the Cabin Fever Reliever, put on by the Penobscot Fly Fishers, is free. The show will be open from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at the Brewer Auditorium.

Visitors can learn about flying tying, snowmobile riding, the Maine Guide program and land trusts. There also will be a silent auction, plus an indoor archery range for youth.

Eastern Maine Sportsmen’s Show will be held March 14-16, 1-8 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday. The 84th show will be put on by the Penobscot County Conservation Association.

There will be exhibits, vendors, educational seminars, food and demonstrations. Smokey the Bear will be on hand. Booths will be themed on Maine’s outdoor heritage, including hunting, fishing, trapping, canoeing and boating among others.

One special event is an opportunity to dispose of your old waders with the nonprofit Repurposed Waders and Maine Fly Company. The groups claim it takes 100 years for old waders to break down in a landfill.

Many old favorites related to the sporting heritage in Maine, including ATV Maine, Moose Maine Kids, Ducks Unlimited, Maine Wood Carvers, Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, Sportsmen’s Alliance of Maine, SeaCoast Dock Divers, North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association, Maine Audubon, House in the Woods, Maine Trappers Association, Veazie Salmon Club and Penobscot Fly Fishers will be among the dozens of booths and vendors.

The Aroostook Sportsman Spring Show 2025 will be held 9 a.m.-5 p.m. March 22, and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. March 23, at The Forum in Presque Isle.

The organizers have not listed specifics yet, but they hint there will be new activities, demonstrations and vendors.

The 43rd State of Maine Sportsman’s Show will be held March 28-30 at the Augusta Civic Center, put on by The Maine Sportsman magazine in partnership with the Sportsman’s Alliance of Maine.

More than 7,500 people attended last year’s event, according to organizers. The specific hours for each day and admission cost are not listed yet.

There will be new and returning exhibitors, seminars and demonstrations, plus an archery station. The show also is host to the annual Duck Stamp Contest and the Trail Camera contest. A kids zone, turkey calling, North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association demonstrations and hourly raffles will be among the things to do.
