A South Paris woman died Monday afternoon following a collision in Poland.
Heather Keniston, 50, was driving a 2014 Mazda CX-5 east on Route 11, also known as Bakerstown Road, about 2:30 p.m. when she hit a snow drift, lost control and veered into the path of an oncoming 2016 Ford F-150 driven by 70-year-old Robert Cloughtery of Casco, according to the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office.
Keniston, who wasn’t wearing a seat belt, succumbed to her injuries, the sheriff’s office said Tuesday. She was alone in the Mazda.
Clougherty and his passenger, who wasn’t publicly identified, weren’t injured.
Police believe speed and unsafe road conditions are contributing factors in the crash. High winds off Tripp Lake were making snowdrifts on the road.
The crash remains under investigation.
