Tom Brady is back on the football field at the Super Bowl — but this time around, he’s one of the guys on the mic.
Only days after ex-wife Gisele Bündchen gave birth to her third child (her first with boyfriend Joaquim Valente), Brady, 47, made his Super Bowl commentary debut in New Orleans on Sunday, February 9 as the Philadelphia Eagles took on the Kansas City Chiefs.
Brady signed a $375-million contract with FOX Sports in spring 2022. He delayed his debut as a commentator for a year so he could play one more season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before officially retiring (again) from football in February 2023.

Brady’s first run as a commentator wasn’t exactly smooth. While watching the Dallas Cowboys and Cleveland Browns opening game that year, Brady’s former teammate Antonio Brown took a shot at the former quarterback on X.
“Maybe someone should have listened to Tom Brady actually say words before dropping $300 million on him,” he tweeted on September 8, 2023.
NFL Red Zone host Scott Hanson also took issue with Brady’s analysis. “Oh, come on,” he said. “Brady has gotta get more excited than that in the booth.” Hanson returned to X to clarify his comment after receiving some online backlash from fans.
“This was unfair & inconsiderate by me,” he wrote via X on September 9, 2023. “Yes, I was saying it tongue in cheek — but I didn’t calculate how it may come across. @TomBrady, I apologize. I promise I am rooting you on in this new venture!”
Brady and Bündchen, 44, share two children, son Benjamin and daughter Vivian.Brady’s son Jack also splits his time between the former couple and his mother, actress Bridget Moynahan. Bündchen and Valente, 37, began dating in the summer of 2023.
In March 2024, the model and philanthropist opened up about the special nature of her relationship with the Brazilian jui-jitsu teacher. “This is the first time I am seeing someone that was a friend of mine first,” she told the New York Times at the time. “It’s very different. It is very honest, and it’s very transparent.”

News the pair were expecting their first baby broke in October 2024. “Gisele and Joaquim have been living together for over a year now, and expanding their family is something they’re very excited about,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly at the time. “Once the divorce was finalized, they moved in together very quickly and have been linked at the hip ever since.”
The source added, “Gisele is so excited to be a mom again.”
The friend also said that this relationship is different for Bündchen. “Their chemistry together has always been there, and they have a lot in common,” the insider shared. “They’ve been in love for a while.”
