
Some parts of Maine may get up to 10 inches of snow by early Sunday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service in Gray.
The storm will sweep northeast across the state starting Saturday night and taper off early in the day Sunday.
Heavy snow is expected in southwestern Maine, with accumulations of 7 to 10 inches, according to the weather service, which warned that driving conditions could be hazardous due to heavy snow and low visibility.
In western and central Maine, 4 to 6 inches of snow are expected, with periods of heavy snow making driving dangerous.
Between 2 and 4 inches are likely in the Penobscot Valley and along the coast, with isolated higher amounts on islands in coastal Hancock County.
Roads are expected to be slick Sunday morning, according to the weather service.
