Why all of sudden, after years of dumping the management of crises like the COVID pandemic on states and telling states that he was all for letting them manage things on their own, is the president insisting that California obey his dictates on how to run their state. Tying voter ID to federal help or relief from the disastrous fires, for example.
What will he demand from the state of Maine if we have another storm that destroyed so much property like we did a year ago?
Will we be able to survive a large jump in prices for energy? We currently get just about all our fuel from Canada. Will he just tell us to anoint him to some high plateau in order for him to release federal aid to Maine?
We are in a precarious situation in this state because we lack the population and tax base to handle an extreme weather disaster. We are vulnerable because most Mainers didn’t vote for this president, and he is demonstrating for the world to see his vindictiveness.
