Yet another snowstorm is gearing up to move into Maine on Saturday night.
The highest totals with this storm look to be in southern Maine. More winter storms are expected next week as the active pattern continues.
Friday will be quiet, but blustery. Highs will be around 30 with plenty of sun, though we’ll have gusty northwest winds up to 40 mph through the morning. A few morning snow showers are also possible.
Another mainly quiet day is expected Saturday, with sunshine and highs in the upper 20s.
Weekend storm
Our next storm arrives Saturday night.
Timing
The snow will begin around or just before midnight Saturday night.
It will be heaviest early Sunday morning and should be mostly done by midday.
Totals

The highest totals will be in southern Maine, where York County likely will be the bullseye for the state with 6-10 inches forecast.
Elsewhere in southern Maine, including the Portland area, 4-8 inches of snow is expected. There will be a steep drop-off in snowfall into central Maine. It looks like a minor storm there, with 2-4 inches. Stay tuned, there is plenty of time for totals to shift a bit.
Beyond the weekend, we get a break from storms on Monday and Tuesday. It will be very cold at night early next week, with temperatures well below zero and highs in the 20s.
Our next potential storm may arrive Tuesday night-Wednesday morning.
This looks like a very minor one at this point, if we see anything at all.
A more significant storm is potentially in the cards for Thursday, with yet another storm threat next weekend. Stay closely tuned to the forecast over the next week as we narrow down these storm threats.
