Rumer Willis Praises Bruce Willis and Demi Moore For ‘Beautiful’ Coparenting Example: 'I’m Grateful’

Rumer Willis has spoken about how “grateful” she is to her divorced parents, Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, for setting such a great coparenting example.

Speaking on British talk show Loose Women on Monday, February 3, the actress, 36, also gave an update on Bruce’s health. In 2022, the Hollywood star was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia and communication disorder aphasia.

“He’s doing great,” Rumer said. “I think, obviously as many people in California, the thing we’re all kind of most scared of dealing with is just the fires and wanting to make sure everything is OK.”

She went on: “Because my family, we’re all so close, I think what’s so beautiful is the way that we rally around each other, [it’s] so lovely, because we really are a unit.”

Rumer also spoke about how her parents have inspired her when it comes to coparenting her toddler daughter with ex Derek Richard Thomas. Louetta was born in April 2023, with the couple confirming their split just over a year later, in August 2024.

“I think the thing I’m most grateful for is that even when they split up, they created such a beautiful foundation of prioritising my sisters and I, that I never felt like I had to choose or like, they never played against each other,” she said. “We were a family, and we still are very much a family no matter what. And not only did I feel like that has set me up in my life to have such a beautiful foundation of my own family, but now, as I’m working through coparenting as well, I feel deep gratitude for the example they’ve set.”

Bruce, 69, and Demi, 62, had been married for 13 years when they split in 2000. The exes have always maintained an amicable relationship and spent time together as a family with Rumer and her sisters Scout, 33, and Tallulah, 30.

Most recently, the family celebrated Moore’s triumph at the 2025 Golden Globes, where she picked up the Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture — Musical or Comedy prize for her role in The Substance — the first award of her long career.

“What a gift to witness you shine and be acknowledged not only for the incredible work you did in this film but in the multitude of staggeringly breathtaking work your entire career,” Rumer wrote via Instagram, while Scout said, “I am so beyond proud, my entire body is buzzing. I am so overwhelmed with joy and pride and gratitude!!” Tallulah wrote: “This woman is my teacher, my guide, my friend. The world is seeing you as your family does, and I am beaming with pride.”

Bruce’s wife, Emma Heming Willis, even joined in the celebrations, writing, “We’re screaming over here!!!”
