A man has been charged with attempted murder after three police officers were injured in an “altercation” at a police station in Rhondda Cynon Taf.
South Wales Police said two of the officers were taken to hospital to receive treatment for their injuries.
In a statement, the force said a man attended Talbot Green Police Station shortly before 7pm on Friday night.
A spokesperson added that vehicles were damaged and three officers were hurt during a “violent struggle”.
Both officers who were taken to hospital have since been discharged, the spokesperson confirmed.
Alexander Stephen Dighton, 27, from Llantrisant, has been charged with seven offences, namely attempted murder, assault of an emergency worker, assault, arson, criminal damage, possession of an offensive weapon and possession of a bladed article.

Chief Superintendent Stephen Jones from South Wales Police has thanked the local community and wider public for their support and “concern for the officers involved”.
“Our officers showed great bravery and quick thinking during the altercation and despite being understandably shaken I am very glad to report that none of the officers involved sustained any major injuries,” he added.
