I may be a beauty expert, but I’ve never been able to confidently apply lip liner. Every time I try, my lips end up looking clownish and harsh rather than full and defined. Technically the Lip Shape isn’t a lip liner — it’s more of a liner-crayon hybrid that feels soft and nourishing like a lipstick. It has a creamier texture than your standard lip liner, which makes it more seamless to apply and blend. The tip, while thin and precise, isn’t pointy, to also enhance the ease of application. The rounded edge glides along the contours of my lips and never leaves any harsh lines — a major upside when completing an over-lined look.
On the off chance my lips end up looking a little too sharp, the silicone smudger on the flip side of the Lip Shape helps me to buff out the edges for a diffused appearance that helps my lips look naturally full. It’s really all in the little details.

You probably wouldn’t wear lip liner and nothing else on your lips. However, because this is a hybrid lippie and infused with skin-enhancing moisturizers, it can certainly be worn on its own. (I now wear it alone all the time!) After outlining my pout, I like to fill in the center for a cohesive, soft-focus finish. In the photos included, I’m wearing the shades Lunge (a rosy beige) and Bend (a soft peachy beige) with nothing on top. If I want a little shine I’ll add some gloss. Otherwise, the peptides in the formula keep my lips soft, supple and comfortable throughout the day.
I want just about every color in the 11-hue lineup, too, and I applaud Hailey Bieber for creating a vast range of shades that will complement all skin tones. She really thought of everything when creating this product!
I never fully understood the hype behind Rhode until I swiped this across my lips.
