Two more men were charged with murder after a grand jury reviewed the criminal cases connected to a missing man found dead in Penobscot County last year.
Dylan Caruso, 27, of Corinth was last seen Sept. 30, 2024, on lower Ohio Street in Bangor. His body was found in a wooded area in Exeter on Oct. 23, 2024.
On Wednesday, a grand jury indicted four men on numerous charges related to Caruso’s death. When the men had their first court appearances, they each had one criminal charge. However, the grand jury returned indictments with a total of 10 charges against the men.
Kenneth Creamer, 36, of Exeter is charged with one felony count each of intentional or knowing murder, aggravated trafficking of fentanyl and aggravated trafficking of cocaine.
Dylan Boyce, 31, of Exeter is charged with one felony count of intentional or knowing murder and two counts of tampering with a witness or informant, which are Class C felonies. Boyce was originally arrested for hindering apprehension or prosecution.
Holden Melvin, 32, of Charleston is charged with one count each of felony murder and hindering apprehension or prosecution, a Class B felony. Felony murder is when the death of someone is caused as a “reasonably foreseeable consequence” while committing, or attempting to commit, another crime, according to Maine law.
Dylan Belanger, 31, of Corinth is charged with one felony count each of hindering apprehension or prosecution and tampering with a witness or informant.
The arrest affidavits, which outline the police investigations into the crimes, are impounded, meaning no additional details about the case are available until after the men are arraigned in February.
The men were arrested in late October after Caruso’s body was found.
Creamer is charged with aggravated forgery in a separate case.
All four men are scheduled for arraignment at 8:30 a.m., Feb. 19. Creamer, Belanger and Melvin are in the Penobscot County Jail, while Boyce is in the Somerset County Jail.
